On January 17, the UK government released the 3rd Climate Change Risk Assessment (CCRA3), noting the scale of the ‘unprecedented’ challenge faced by the country. The 5-year assessment looked at both the work underway and the remaining gap in the transition to resilience. Key points raised included:
- 5.2bn pounds in flood defenses
- Strategy towards public-private financing
- 2-degree pathway risks to the UK of 1bn pounds per year by 2050
