Chinese wind turbine firm Goldwind has signaled its intention to build a factory in the Brazilian state of Bahia. The investment could be worth up to $29 million. A protocol of intentions was signed between Goldwind and Bahia state governor Jerônimo Rodrigues. Goldwind is also the supplier for two wind farms in Brazil.
The proposed turbine factory can prove beneficial for Brazil in several ways, including:
- The potential to create 250 direct jobs and a further 850 indirect ones
- Strengthening the image of Brazil as a country with a strong potential for renewable energy
