The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced its investment of up to $2.8bn in 70 climate-smart agriculture projects as part of its Partnerships for Smart Commodities programme.
The USDA launched the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities to support sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices to create fresh market opportunities for American agricultural commodities.
This effort aims at:
- Increasing the competitive advantage of the US agro-industry
- Increasing climate-smart agricultural production
- connecting on-farm greenhouse gas reductions with low-carbon dairy market
