In order to support the creation of lending products that contribute to the delivery of greener homes, the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) announced that up to £20 million would be made available to banks, building societies, and the larger finance community through its Green Home Finance Accelerator. According to the government, it would also support efforts to increase awareness of green finance and the advantages of energy efficiency in houses.
The funding will support:
- Financial institutions testing innovative green finance products
- Energy bill savings for homeowners, enabling them to make improvements to their homes
