Singapore has awarded initial approvals to five energy projects in Indonesia. The country aims to advance plans to import clean electricity from neighbouring nations and reduce its dependence on natural gas. Although Singapore aims to decarbonise its power mix, it faces limits on building solar and wind farms because of its need for more available space. The growth of renewable energy in Asia is going on at a fast pace as the region develops a similar energy market to Europe.
