The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) has issued a report calling for “greater ambition and accelerating action” to meet the long-term goals set out in the Paris Agreement to limit global temperature rise. The report comes ahead of the upcoming UN climate change conference COP28, which will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The report summarizes key findings on the implementation status of the Paris Agreement, including:
- The need to do much more in most areas related to the mitigation of climate change impacts
- Good practices and proposals to accelerate implementation, action and support
- The emerging and existing opportunities and creative solutions for bridging the gaps in the efforts to limit climate change
